It was only after abortion that she came to know that the aborted child was a baby boy. The doctors had made a mistake. This had enraged the Chandradevi´s family members but they were silenced after the doctors paid them Rs 150,000 in compensation.
Chandradevi carried out the abortion at Dr Nilam Chaudhary´s clinic in Janakpur.
However, the police said they cannot take action against the doctor as they have received no complaints in this regard. “Nevertheless, we are carrying out an investigation,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Narendra Upreti.
