Here are some tips to make sure your winter clothes are in perfect shape and conditions:
1) Follow label instructions
Most winter garments and clothing made of wool, cashmere or even fleece will have instructions on their labels on how to wash them. The manufacturer tells you the best way to service the article. Follow it.
2) Dry-clean or hand-wash
Cleaning or washing woolen clothes can distort the shape and size of the clothes to very undesirable extent, as the woolen fibers tend to swell when washed in water. In these cases, it is better to pay a bit extra and dry-clean rather than losing the worth of your luxurious woolen clothes.
For clothes that read on their labels that it can be hand-washed, use a mild soap and make sure it is thoroughly dissolved in cold water. Gently swish the clothes around in the water for several minutes, then rinse under cold water until the water runs clear of soap. Then roll it up in a towel to remove the water. Do not wring the clothes. Lay it flat on a towel and adjust it to its original shape
3) Cleaning winter coats
Frequency of washing your winter coats depends on what kind of working environment you have. If you work in a busy street area, consider cleaning it once a month, otherwise at least twice in the season – once at the beginning and then at the end of winter.

Stuff your boots with newspaper or tissue paper to keep it in shape. Exposure to direct sunlight or heat is not good, so them away from it.
When you wash your ugg boots, never submerge them in water. Instead you can clean them by using suede cleaner solution, using sponge and cold water.
For leather boots, use a mild soap/water solution and soft white cloth to wash wood or synthetic heels and trim. For tougher stains, use a half water/half vinegar solution. Dry thoroughly.

You can use lint rollers, available at many stores, which employ sticky-tape technology to grab lint balls from fabrics. Or you can save your cash by rolling a piece of tape around your hand, make a simple loop, and blot the spots away.
For knit garments with fluffs, you can use a disposable razor to shave those wooly bumps. For best results, clean the razor between swipes with a slightly dampened clean washcloth. This will reduce static and keep the lint from cluttering your home or work area as well
6) Ironing
To keep your sweaters and coats wrinkle-free, you can use an iron for pressing , preferably a steam iron. In the case of cashmere sweaters, place a clean, undyed towel between the sweater and iron to prevent the heat from harming the garment
7) Storage
Winter clothes are vulnerable to attacks from moths and pest. Use cedar hangers as cedar can prevent moth attack. When you pack your winter clothes, wash them first and store them in plastic zipped bags with mothballs but make sure to keep them away from children. Store your winter clothes away from damp places and in clean closets.
