we live in a bitter world.
28 women and girls fall victim to domestic violence during 16 d...
everybody says ours is a patriarchal society and thus, all the rules and the social norms, are hence the result of patriarchal perception.
its truth.
we see, not more than a century ago Europe embraced the equality in all sectors and gender was obviously, one of them.
but talking about the Indian subcontinent and all the so called third world countries, well, its beyond doubt that, for the establishment of the equal and just society, it will take the net hundred year.
lets talk the topic.
human is the superior creature, nature has ever created.
its because we are rational and have created the civilization no creature dared to .
but, during the course of the civilization, man, the either gender of the evolution, has tagged himself as the human and in case of the other one, "woman" , its the subsidiary for the existence.
no one can deny that.
all the philosophers from Greek to latter part of the 18th century hinted to the similar perception of superiority of the male.
narrowing down, we've come to our civilization to see the status quo between to these genders.
but before heading down to discuss about it, i want to clarify, i am not a student of history and i have lived a mere 20 years of my life in this society, as a male.
i happened to read an article, the other day, where one of the professor has highlighted the piety and the respect provided to women during the Licchavis.
well, that might be true, if all the inscriptions found along the way is interpreted authentically.
so, what is the factor, that has caused, our society, once so pious and harmonic; to be in the state of insecurity and the vulnerability?
not just the month ago, the acid incident occurred.
it wasn't the first incident regarding the gender issue or lets say the woman issue; and it may not be the last, citing the society we've developed along the way and the social and national system we are living under.
well, who and what is to be blamed for the incident?
we find it easy to point our finger to the accuser but we rarely pay heed to cause of the incident and the possible solutions to it.
i believe, like all the sane and the reasonable people do, the acid attack is a heinous act in itself, no matter what its cause might be. but why the acid?
and why again another female?
our social norms are preoccupied with the male dominant perception, consciously or semi-consciously. all the unethical and the immoral crime happening to women is not because of person's own design, but the thought of superiority, the society has fed to him since his birth; it may be the case of dowry, rape, sexual abuse, discrimination and so forth,
whatever may be the reasons behind any of this sort of heinous act, male finds a easy approach to attack upon female based on all the superiority assumptions, he cultivates on his mind.
we live in a nation where women are tagged formally, inferior to the male. the percentage of rights provided to them is the example to it.
politics is the one and only platform, where women can clearly sit together with male and draft all the rules and regulation for a country. ( it is the observed phenomena in most of the developed and inclusive countries)
but, are women in our country in mainstream?
absolutely no.
the fewer representation of the female in CA doesn't suffice.
so, who can play the role to create the harmony in the society where the end of all these acts can be observed?
one thing for sure, NGO and INGO has reached to the nook and corners of our country where the presence of the government is pseudo-reality.
so, these parties can play the crucial role for the empowerment of the women through all sorts of programs.
its the role of the legislature, to promulgate the laws against these sorts of act.
and additional to all these, its us, from whose mind, the superiority concept should be abolished.
and lets say, we won't be writing all these blogs in the name of equality by then.
