KATHMANDU, Jan 12: A four-day event featuring the 6th Wedding & Gift Expo-2012 and the 5th Children Expo-2012 kicked off at Bhrikutimandap on Thursday. Both the expos were jointly inaugurated by actress Karishma Manandhar and Keki Adhikari.
The expo has 80 stalls in which exhibitors have displayed entire range of wedding related products so that visitors planning to tie knots in the upcoming wedding season can do a complete shopping. [break]
The products and services on display inlcude shirting and suiting, furniture, boutique, greeting cards, perfumes, jewelry, exclusive gift items, ritual accessories, flower and decorators, catering, music band and DJ, and priest service, among others.
The organizers are also hosting entertaining events on the sidelines of the expo like bridal fashion show, bridal make-up, photo exhibition of famous weddings, photo shoot and free Mehendi.
Likewise, the Children Expo has gaming zone, interactive multimedia learning materials and CDs to attract the children.
Suman Maharjan, event coordinator of the two expos, said thousands of people visited the expo on the first day. "Mostly children enjoyed the expo as most of the schools are presently closed for winter vacation," he stated.
