WB team start work on capital market plan

KATHMANDU, Oct 25: A team from the World Bank, which has been assigned to prepare capital market development master plan project for Nepal, commenced its work on Monday.



The team is led by Richard Pratt, the international capital market expert of the WB, and includes Loretta Foran, project officer of Financial Sector Reform and Strengthening (FIRST) Initiative. [break]The project is funded by the multi-donor trust fund present within the WB.



According to a statement, the team, during this visit, will meet with the officials of Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Law, Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), Nepal Rastra Bank, Nepal Stock Exchange and a few stockbrokers.



The team will also hold discussions with Insurance Board, Institute of Chartered Accountants Nepal, private sector institutions and submit the report of Capital Market Development Master Plan to SEBON.
