Victory for three banks in super league

KATHMANDU, Oct 5: Laxmi Bank, Bank of Asia and Siddhartha Bank Tuesday won their first super league matches in the ongoing Soaltee Crowne Plaza Super Sixes Cricket Tournament at the TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.



Laxmi Bank defeated Surya Nepal by six wickets. Surya Nepal batting first put up 47/3 in allotted five overs. [break]Laxmi Bank met the target in 3.3 overs without losing wickets as Arjun Dhoj Khadka contributed 34 runs off 13 balls.



Bank of Asia thrashed NCELL by six wickets without loosing a single wicket in their successful run chase of 57 runs. NCELL gathered 56 runs in five overs losing four wickets, but Diwash Thakuri struck 32 runs off 10 balls as Bank of Asia reached 59/0 in 4.1 overs.



Likewise, Siddhartha Bank eased past Nabil Bank by five wickets in the third supper league match of the day. Nabil batted first and were all out for 44 runs in 4.4 overs as Arjun Pokhrel took three wickets in four balls without giving any run to limit Nabil. Meanwhile, Suraj Timilsina scored 22 runs as Siddhartha reached 47/1 in 3.4 overs.



Earlier in the group stage, Kantipur Group thumped down Bottlers Nepal by 45 runs, while Bank of Asia Nepal thrashed Prime Life Insurance by six wickets.



Nabil Bank thrashed APCA Nepal by six wickets and NCELL beat Kumari Saving and Credit by three runs. Similarly, Himalayan Bank beat Siddhartha Bank by eight runs, while NIC Bank defeated hosts Soaltee Crowne Plaza by seven and Nepal SBI Bank won the match against Standards Chartered Bank by three wickets.
