“She met Prime Minister Dahal in connection with finalizing the mid-term review on the progress of peace process in the country,” an UNMIN official told myrepublica.com.
Landgren met Dahal before leaving for UN Headquarters in New York, where she will submit a three-month mid-term review on the progress of peace process in Nepal.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will submit the review in the Security Council scheduled for the first week of May.
Landgren also talked to leaders from various political parties, diplomats and other officials over the matter.
UNMIN is a special political mission in support of the peace process in Nepal. It was established by Security Council on January 23, 2007 and is currently mandated to stay in Nepal till July 23, 2009. The Security Council extended UNMIN’s mandate for six months for a third time on January 23, 2009.
