Unidentified assailants rob custom point

DHANGADHI, May 2: A group of about nine unidentified assailants robbed money from Prithvipur custom point Friday midnight after beating up employees stationed there. The assailants also set fire to the office.



According to district police office, Kailali, the group looted Rs. 7,000 from the custom that was collected at the center. They beat up Kharidar (assistant official) Chhatra Bahadur Rajuwar, who was in the office when the incident happened, before looting the money. They also burnt down all the documents.



The group also attacked Bhupendra Shah, owner of the building that housed the custom point, and robbed Rs. 4,000 and a mobile set from him. Shah sustained injury in his head. He was attacked by a khukuri.



Rajuwar and Shah said they could not identify the assailants. A police team led by Sub-Inspector Dharma Singh Bista has been mobilized at the incident site. No one has been arrested so far, police said.
