UML secy urges CPN-Maoist to participate in CA polls

DANG, July 1: CPN-UML Secretary Shankar Pokharel urged the agitating CPN-Maoist to stand in favor of new Constituent Assembly elections scheduled for November 19 later this year.



Speaking at a program in Reporters Club Nepal in Tulsipur, Dang, Monday, Pokharel stressed on the resolution of political differences through dialogue. [break]



He said there will be question marks on the performances of Interim Election Government Chairman Khil Raj Regmi, the president and the four-party mechanism and the leaderships of the four party, if the new elections could not be held at the scheduled date. The UML leader was also of the opinion that the government should proceed with its preparations for the elections if the dissenting parties ignore calls for talks.
