According to Prasanta Kunwar, project manager of the trade delegation, the UK delegation led by Sabe Tibbitts of UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), spoke to the president about their experience in Nepal. The delegation wrapped up its six-day visit to Nepal on Tuesday.
At the meeting, Nepalese Ambassador to UK Dr Suresh Chalise, British ambassador to Nepal John Tucknott and president of Nepal-Britain Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rajendra Khetan were present.
During the visit, the 28-member delegation found the series of meeting with Nepali officials helpful in boosting trade relations between the two countries.
Members of the delegation had said at the start of the visit they are interested in investing in tourism, hydropower, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, retail, finance, manufacturing, processed agriculture products, and education, among others.
“We have been overwhelmed by the warmth of the welcome in Nepal and we realise the friendship and mutual understanding between our two peoples continue and should be built upon. The UK government believes boosting of trade links would build prosperity for all trade partners,” said Tibbitts.
