KATHMANDU, May 25: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has reached Guangzhou, China.
According to CPN-UML leader Karna Bahadur Thapa, who is also part of the delegation, Bhandari reached Guangzhou on Sunday afternoon. He said that the delegation led by Bhandari was welcomed by the Consul General in Guangzhou.

Earlier, during her presidency, Bhandari had paid a state visit to China from April 24 to May 3, 2019.
This is Bhandari’s first visit abroad since completing her term as President. She will participate as the chief guest in two events being held in Beijing and Gansu Province.
The delegation includes Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari. Also part of the delegation are CPN-UML Secretary and Head of the Foreign Affairs Department, former Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Raghubir Mahaseth, leader and former minister Karna Bahadur Thapa, lawmaker Devi Bhattachan, leader and former lawmaker Goma Devkota, and Dr Kailash Bhandari, the brother of the late Madan Bhandari.
