UCPN (Maoist) candidates violating poll code

ROLPA, Oct 20: UCPN (Maoist) candidate for constituency number 1 of Rolpa, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, has violated election code of conduct by painting walls with election slogan.

The party cadres have painted election slogans on the walls across the constituency. Another candidate for constituency number 2 of the district Onsari Gharti Magar has also violated election code of conduct by taking part in a formal function organized by a local club as a chief guest. [break]



CPN-UML leader Hari Prasad Gharti Magar claimed that the Maoist candidates have been openly violating the election code of conduct. “I have filed a complaint at the district election office but the office has not taken the issue seriously,” added Magar.



Meanwhile, candidates of Kapilvastu district have also violated the election code conduct by using vehicles bearing Indian registration number for the election campaign.



Candidates of Tarai Madhes Democratic Party, Sadbhavana Party, CPN-UML, among others, were found using vehicles bearing Indian number plates for the election campaign.



Chief of District Election Office, Kapilvastu, Kashi Ram Gaire said that they have not received any written complaint regarding violation of the election code of conduct. “We will take action against the candidates violating the election code of conduct,” said Gaire.
