UCPN (Maoist) candidate's vehicle set on fire

MAKWANPUR, Oct 27: A vehicle owned by UCPN (Maoist) candidate from Makawanpur Constituency No.3 Prahlad Lamichhane was set ablaze here last night.



According to the District Police Office, Makawanpur, an unidentified gang put a Tata jeep (Ba. 8 Cha.5956) of Lamichhane on fire while it was parked at Piple-5 Hetauda at 1:00 am last night. [break]



The fire was taken under control immediately after the fire last night, said UCPN (Maoist) district committee.



CPN-Maoist cadres set the vehicle used for election campaign on fire to disrupt the CA election, said the UCPN (Maoist) sources.



With arson, the jeep was completely destroyed, said police. Meanwhile, candidate Lamichhane has demanded the local administration to take action against arsonists.



A search for the arsonists is underway and action will be taken against them, said Superintendant of Police (SP) Ganesh Bahadur Air at the District Police Office, Makawanpur.
