POKHARA, May 7:Unidentified group killed two people in Takam VDC-2 of Myagdi district Wednesday night. The groups killed Dambar Kumari Thapa, 66 and her 13-year-old help, attacking them with sharp weapons while they were asleep, police said. Initial investigation led police to conclude that the group killed the two to rob the house.
Neighbors who reached the house after there was no sign of life there till late Thursday morning found the two dead, according to Tam Bahadur Thapa, a local. Neighbors said the robbers killed the two to loot ornaments.
Police believe the robbers made away with 12 tolas of gold and an unknown amount of cash. Thapa’shusband Tek Bahadur survived as he was in Kathmandu for treatment during the incident. Police Inspector Sukra K.C. said the looters took benefit of his absence and attacked the woman and the girl.
The incident site is eight-hours walk from district headquarters Beni.
