KATHMANDU, Sept 12: Ocean Computers has introduced two new MSI notebooks with third generation core processor. According to the company, the new notebooks - MSI CR41 and MSI GE60 -are ´multimedia companions´.
The MSI CR41 uses Intel HM76 chipset and third-generation Intel Core processor. The 14 inch notebook has a resolution of 1366x 768 pixels, 2GB DDR3 RAM and 500 GB hard drive. [break]
Other features in this notebook includes Giga Network Interface Card (NIC), wireless modules Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, 1.3-megapixel webcam, LAN Ethernet, card reader, two speakers of 2 watts output with support for SRS, audio interfaces headphone and microphone jacks, two USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports and DVD R/W optical drive.
In addition to that, the CR41 has MSI´s exclusive S-Bar technology and eco engine power saving technology. The laptop uses 6-cell 4400 mAh battery that can provide power backup for up to 7.5 hours.
“With the support of proprietary rapid charging, the battery charges to 80 percent capacity in just 80 minutes,” Suresh Kayastha, managing director of Ocean Computers, said. “Hence, customers do not have to worry about frequent power cuts.”
Besides, the notebook weighs just 2.4 kg, making it easier to carry for the customers. The company has priced the laptop at Rs 62,500.
Similarly, the GE60 is a slim and light laptop in the MSI´s gaming series. The 15.6-inch notebook with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels is powered by third-generation Intel Core i5 2.50 GHZ processor and supports full HD display. It has 4GB DDR3 RAM that can be expandable up to 16 GB and a 600-series Nvidia graphics card based on an already-tested barebones system. It has 750 GB hard drive and DVDRW optical drive.
“The notebook promises strong application and 3D performance thereby making it a perfect device for game enthusiasts," said Kayastha.
Other features of the notebook include Bluetooth 4.0, memory card reader, 6-cell battery, 4-channel sound by THX, HDMI port and USB 3.0.
“Its keyboard and space bar are specially designed for game enthusiasts. Similarly, it has exclusive audio boost technology,” said Kayastha, adding, “It is equipped with Turbo Drive Engine (TDE) technology to speed up the performance.”
The notebook that weighs just 2.4 kg is priced at Rs 105,000.
According to the company, both the notebooks come with genuine Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.
