Preeti BK, a vegetable vendor, and rickshaw driver Chhotu Sahani of Mangalbare bazaar died when the bus (Na 3 Kha 2532) lost control and skidded off the road because of high speed, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Bidyananda Majhi.
Ten people were injured in the accident. The condition of three persons is reportedly critical. The injured are being treated at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan.
Irate locals had obstructed the Mangalbare road section for sometime after the accident. Police have arrested the bus driver.
