Setting up a post at the Bhansar road, the Maoists for the last three years have been collecting Rs 100 from each truck ostensibly for the “welfare” of transport workers.
Accusing the establishment faction of embezzling the bank account of the Maoist-aligned transport workers´ union, Baidya faction had started collecting money from the post three days ago.
“They embezzled the fund. So we began to collect money ourselves,” said Lok Bahadur Rana Magar, chief of the Maoist-aligned union.
