Winning the toss Triton opted to bat first and scored 154 runs losing nine wickets in regular 20 overs. Classic were all out in 19.5 overs with 146 runs on board.[break]
Triton did not have a good start as opener Robin Joshi (7) was stumped by Binod Bhandari in the ball of Rahul Pratap Singh when the score was 15 on board.
However, a 72-run partnership between Amit Shrestha and Prabin Joshi helped Triton to post defendable score. Naresh Budhayer sent Shrestha to the pavilion in the fifth ball off 14th over. Prem Chaudhary caught Shrestha at long on when latter was at 41 runs off 27 balls. Shrestha struck six boundaries and a six.
Joshi, who missed half century by a run, was stumped in the Rahul BK´s bowling. Joshi struck five huge sixes and a four during his innings of 49 runs off 47 balls. He hit two sixes in an over off Budhayer. Santosh Baral also scored 20 runs off 10 deliveries that included two boundaries and a six.
Triton were at 138/5 at the end of the 17th over but they lost another four wickets to add 16 runs. Budhayer was the most successful bowler for classic as he took three wickets in his three over spell conceding 30 runs. Bhuwan Karki took two wickets in his four overs giving away 24 runs.
In chasing the target of 155 runs, Classic had a good start. Classic openers Sagar Pun and Binod Bhandari had a 40-run partnership in four overs.
However, they collapsed after Pun was run out. Rupesh Shrivastav´s direct hit from extra cover sent Pun back to pavilion. Pun was playing for 16 runs off 13 balls.
Classic tried for a comeback with 41 runs partnership between Bhandari and Naresh Budhayer but Shrivastav once again came to rattle them. Shrivastav bowled Bhandari in the first ball of the 12th over. Bhandari was at 36 off 34 and Classic were at 81/1. Classic lost their remaining eight wickets scoring only 65 runs.
Shrivastav, Manjeet Shrestha and Rajesh Pulami grabbed two wickets each while four batsmen were caught short of the crease.
With the win Triton bagged the purse of Rs 50, 000 while the host had to satisfy in Rs 30, 000. Binod Bhandari, Rahul Pratap Singh and Naresh Budhayer from Classic College were adjudged best batsman, best bowler and man-of-the-series respectively.
