Triton elected to bat and put up 168/8 in 20 overs. Man-of-the-match Suman Uday anchored the Triton innings with 39 runs off 49 balls while Ujjwal Thapa (29 off 18), Bijay Gautam (29 off 20) and Ritesh Singh (28 off 13) accelerated the innings to post a good total. Pragyesh Dhungel claimed three wickets for the home team while Saurav Thapa took two.
In reply, Kathmandu University reached only 143/9 in the allotted 20 overs. Raunak Jung Pandey scored 32 runs off 26 balls for KU, with Raj Timalsina (19 off 18) and Krishna Bista (18 off 23) being the other major contributors. Indra Kamal Manandhar and Sanjay Shrestha claimed two wickets each for Triton.
Winner Triton bagged Rs 51,000 along with the trophy while runner-up KU received Rs 30,000.
Krishna Bista of the home team was adjudged the player of the tournament and was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 11,000.
Triton bowler Manandhar was declared the best bowler of the tournament while his teammate Rabin Joshi was adjudged the best batsman of the tournament. Manandhar and Joshi received Rs 9,000 each.
