“People need not worry about the tickets; they can get seats even if they do not have made bookings so far because transporters would be operating new vehicles,” said Dharma Raj Rimal, Bagmati Zonal Coordinator of NTENF.
Transport entrepreneurs have added around fifty new buses by Tuesday and still they are preparing to add additional buses because from October 18-22 number of passenger going out from the valley will increase massively.
“We are planning to add more buses because it is expected that around 50,000 passengers will leave the capital every day from October 18 to different parts of the country for Dashain celebration,” said Rimal. “NTENF has introduced the open queue system to make a new arrangement following complaints over shortage of tickets.”
Around 600 passenger buses leave Kathmandu for different parts of the country on ordinary day. “The number will double from October 18 to 22,” said Rijal.
Saroj Sitaula, treasurer of NTENF, said transport entrepreneurs were doing their best to facilitate Dashain travelers. “It is our responsibility to take people to their destinations. More than 200 transporters organizations have agreed to provide additional service as per the need on daily basis,” Sitaula told Republica.
