Three major political parties and other small parties are in door-to-door campaign and organizing election assemblies in the villages. [break]
There is an election speculation that there would be tough competition among the UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) though as many as 29 candidates are in election ground towards the first-past-the-post election in both constituencies. The district has two constituencies.
Central member of the CPN (UML), Bhanu Bhakta Joshi had won the election from the Constituency No. 1 in the first CA election held in 2064 BS. Joshi had received 13,955 votes.
Similarly, Shankar Khadka of the UCPN (Maoist) had received 13,894 votes and won the election from the Constituency No. 2. Khadka has now joined the poll-opposing CPN-Maoist.
The defeated candidate of the UCPN (Maoist) from the Constituency No. 1 is also in the election ground.The UCPN (Maoist) has made a new face, Hari Kunwar, a candidate in the Constituency No. 2. This Constituency is very challenging for the UCPN (Maoist).
Old candidate of the Nepali Congress, Arjun Jung Bahadur Singh, is in competition in the Constituency No. 1. Singh has been fighting in election since 2048 BS.
Similarly, Naresh Bahadur Singh, who won the election as an independent candidate in the election held in 2056 BS, is in election ground in the Constituency No. 2 from NC.
Former District Party President, Satyaraj Bhandari, is fighting the election as a rebel candidate saying NC did not give him ticket for the election. Bhandari was defeated in the first election from the same constituency.
NC District President, Prithvi Bahadur Singh, claimed that NC would get victory in both the constituencies.
The CPN (UML) has made former Chairman of the District Development Committee, Man Bahadur Khatri, and former district deputy secretary of the party, Lal Bahadur Rawal, as candidate in the Constituency No. 1 and 2 respectively.
Khatri is known as famous and sociable leader.
Member of the District Committee of the CPN (UML) and proportional candidate, Afilal Okheda, claimed that victory of the Party is guaranteed in both the constituencies as the party´s organisation is strong in the district and both candidates are new faces.

Experts said that there would be strong competition among the three parties even if other parties too have claimed their victory.There are 90,000 voters in the district, according to the District Election Office, Bajhang.
