Top leaders meet underway at Dallu

KATHMANDU, Aug 31: A meeting of  the main three political parties—UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and CPN-UML is underway in the capital on Friday.



The meeting, held at UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal’s residence at Dallu, is set to discuss on the ways to end the existing political deadlock following the dissolution of the Constituent Assembly on May 27.[break]



Earlier on Wednesday, the top leaders were entrusted with the responsibility to hold serious discussions and forging consensus on the disputed issues including decide on the one of the two courses -- reinstatement of the Constituent Assembly (CA) or going for fresh elections-- to end the ongoing political impasse.



Wednesday’s meeting of the top leaders had also reached an understanding to settle the unresolved disputes in constitution writing and to arrive at a package deal on the next political course by mid-September.
