Three die in Dhading bus accident

DHANDING, July 15 : Three persons were killed and another 15 injured when a passenger bus, which had left for Kathmandu from Arghakhanchi district, met with an accident at Thakre VDC-4 of Dhading on Monday morning.



The bus carrying 60 passengers had plunged 15 meters down the road at Saatkilo road section of Prithivi Highway.

According to District Police Office, Dhangadhi, the deceased have been identified as Dev Bahadur Pun of Simpani VDC-1, Radha Poudel, 26, of the same VDC, and Puran Buddhathoki, 20, of Narpani VDC-4, in Aarghakhanci district. [break]



A team from Khani Khola Area Police Office, Mahadevbasi Police Office, Adamghat Police Office and locals had rescued the injured passengers.

Talking to Republica, Ruk Bahadur Reshmi Magar, one of the injured passengers, said, “Before the bus lost control and fell down, the last thing I heard was the bus conductor screaming out to passengers,” said Magar.



According to another injured passenger Dor Bahadur Bhusal of Simpani VDC-5, the bus was being driven continuously by the same driver for 14 straight hours. “The driver must have fallen asleep when the accident took place.”

Police informed that Baburam BK, 33, Indra Pun, 33, and Kamala Pokharel, 45, have sustained serious injuries. Bus driver Sundar Pariyar has been arrested for interrogation.
