The Homecoming Raju Lama

KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Singer Raju Lama who is back from the US is excited for a number of reasons: he is back in his home country, he is performing in Nepal and most importantly, he is one of the Nepali artists to open for the Bryan Adams Live concert on February 19. [break]

Lama, who will be in Nepal for two months, has a couple of concerts and gigs scheduled following the Bryan Adams Live gig.

“I’m looking forward to interacting with my fans,” Lama said.

He remembered his school days and the craze for Adams’ songs of during that time.

“When I was in school, we would all croon to tunes of Bryan Adams. I’m not a very huge fan but I do admire him,” he remarked.

Lama has been touring around the US and in countries like Japan and Hong Kong for the past year. After performing at the Bryan Adams concert, he hopes to record a few songs as well.

Lama along with his band Mongolian Hearts will be performing for around half an hour at the concert.



“We have already finalized our song ‘Mero Nepal’ and are practicing others,” shared Lama. The band has created a special medley for the event comprising of three of their hit numbers.

“Events like these must take place in Nepal for the economic growth of our nation. I hope that it will encourage other international artists to visit the country and spread the message that we have no security issues,” he said.
