Acting on a complaint registered by the victim´s mother, the District Police Office (DPO) of Chitwan apprehended Manoj Acharya,18, of Padampur VDC-2 on Friday.
Slapping a rape case against Acharya, the DPO has remanded him to custody for further investigation.
“Though the medical report supports the accusation, we are still investigating the case in detail,” informed Inspector Jib Lal Chudali at the DPO.
A press release issued by the DPO states that Acharya had allegedly tried to rape the minor on August 6.
But the victim´s mother insists Acharya raped her daughter and that he also molested her son in the past. [break]
“Acharya has been mistreating my children for the past two years,” she said. “My son had complained of pain in his private parts and I had even mentioned about the mistreatment to Acharya´s mother,” she said.
“After some time,” she added, “my daughter made similar complaints. Then, I showed her private parts to Acharya´s mother. She said the wound in her private parts was a skin infection.”
She said Acharya raped her daughter for the last time on August 6. “After his mistreatment continued, I decided to report it to the police,” said she.
If found guilty, Acharya will face a jail term up to 15 years. Likewise, the convict is also liable to pay due compensation to the victim.
