After the police detained two representative of UPT, it resorted to the strike, informed Ugratara transport. It further elaborated that the strike was called after two of its employees Ramdutt Bhatta and Tejbahadur Air had been detained by the police, due to a scuffle with police officers, while on their way to DAO to hold discussions on the above matter.
Ugratara Transport in a press release has stated that the strike will continue until the detained workers are released and the newly registered transport committee is dissolved.
Meanwhile, Police have detained 19 others responsible for enforcing strikes. Binod Ghimire, Chief of District Police Office informed that the police have detained staffs of Ugratara transport committee, those that are responsible for enforcing the strike.
