The census was conducted by a joint technical team of the National Nature Conservation Fund and the reserve office over three days.
According to Yubaraj Regmi, chief conservation officer at the reserve, Sukla Phanta offers a rare view of the largest herd of stags in the world. “In the 5 sq kilometer area of this wildlife reserve you can see the biggest herd of stags at once.
