MAHENDRANAGAR, May 19: The National Sports Council and the District Sports Development Committee in Bhimdutta Municipality-4 have built a sports hostel in Mahendranagar.

The hostel was built to nurture talented youngsters in the Far-Western region who might not otherwise have had access to such a setting to develop their skills. The hostel will provide free training, food, lodging and education for youngsters from seven hilly districts and two Tarai districts in the Far-Western Region.

The NSC contributed Rs 1.9 million towards the building of the eight-room hostel, and the local District Sports Development Committee came up with the rest of the funds. Member Secretary of the NSC, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, is scheduled to inaugurate the building on Sunday.
