Samakhushi, Prime win titles
KATHMANDU: Samakhushi ´A´ clinched the title of the Magic Moment Nakhipot Open Basketball Tournament on Friday in the boys´ section. Samakhushi defeated Premier College 58-56 in the final. Sunil Gurung scored 16 points for the winning team.
With the win, Samakhushi bagged Rs 30,000 while Premier received Rs 15,000. In the women´s section, Prime defeated Gurukul 36-33 in another closely contested match for the title. The winner and runner-up bagged Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
Kalu Ghale leads Carlsberg Golf
KATHMANDU: Kalu Ghale took the lead among the 43 participants in the first day of the Carlsberg Golf Classic on Friday at Royal Nepal Golf Club. Ganga Bahadur Gurung and MB Limbu are behind Ghale, while Rekha Ghimire is at the forefront in the ladies´ category. In the junior category, Rahul Agrawal is leading in the front. More than 50 participants will tee off on Saturday. The winner will be announced after the second day of play. This season prizes and hampers will be given away to participants in 19 different categories including winner, runner-up, gross winner, ladies´ winner and others.
