The committee consists of eight members including five members from five continents. This is the first time that a Nepali has been nominated to the post.
Pandey was elected unanimously as the vice-president of Asian Cricket Council earlier in June this year. Last year he was also presented with the Lifetime Service Award. As the member of the development committee for a tenure of two years, Pandey will be responsible for implementing development programs in 18 Asian nations.

Valley Public defend title
KATHMANDU, Sept 1: Hosts Valley Public A on Wednesday defended the girls´ title in the fifth edition of the Valley Public Inter-school Basketball Tournament.
Daffodil clinched the title under boys´ category at Valley Public´s court in Golfutar. This is the fourth time that Valley have won the title. They had won titles in all editions except the second. Greenland had won the title in the second edition.
In girls´ final, Valley had a narrow 15-14 victory over Trungram International Academy (TIA) in an entertaining show with the score of 5-4, 8-1, 0-2, 2-7. Laxmi Shrestha of the hosts won the most valuable player award while Samikshin Bista of the same took the highest scorer award with 87 points in her name.
Daffodil eased past Baba Boarding School 39-25 for the boys´ title. Sange Rafsel scored 14 points for the winning side. Akran Rai won the most valuable player award while Mukesh Baniya took the highest scorer award with 61 points.
Angels´ Heart and Greenland took the third place honors in boys´ and girls´ section respectively.
GM, Tamang win
KATHMANDU, Sept 1: Hasta Bahadur GM of Dang and Laxman Tamang of APF on Thursday made it through to the quarterfinals in the first Harisharan Memorial National Open Boxing Championship held at Bosigaun.
In men´s 49 kg, GM defeated Dilu Rai of Sunsari and Tamang beat Bhim Bahadur Thapa of Salyan. In 52 kg, Kabindra Maharjan of APF, Chandra Jyoti Thapa and Dhirajkumar GM of Dang, Gopal Basnet of Jhapa and Rahul Pradhan of Ilam won their respective matches to book pre-quarterfinal spots winning respective bouts.
In men´s 56 kg, Durga Chaudhary of Kapilvastu, Dhirendra Chand of Kanchanpur, Yogesh Gurung of Bosigaun, Prakash Basnet of APF and Sudip Aryal of Hetauda Boxing Club secured pre-quarterfinal berths winning their respective bouts.
Wilson, Skylark set up final clash
KATHMANDU, Sept 1: Hosts Wilson Academy set up a final clash with Skylark in junior boys´ category of the ongoing Valley-wide Inter-school Basketball Tournament (Wilson Hoops).
Wilson defeated Galaxy 33-21 in the semifinal played on their home court at Baphal. Sunil Khatri scored 20 points for the winning side. Skylark struggled past Neric 29-28 points as Manoj Chauhan scored 16 points for the winners.
Likewise, Ullens and Sambotta advanced into the senior boys´ final. Ullens eased past Wilson 60-49. Kishan Nepali top-scored for the winners with 16 points. Riding on Sameer Thing´s 18 points, Sambotta beat Araniko 61-52 in the second semifinal of the category.
Meanwhile, Galaxy beat Shridiwa 25-18 to reach the girls´ final.
