DOTI, Sept 30: While candidates of small parties have returned to their constituencies, the leaders of Nepali Congress are still at the party headquarters in Kathmandu, lobbying for ticket.

The candidates of small parties have already started to reach out to the voters to take them into confidence. “Apart from convincing the voters, we are extending party organizations and cadres,” said leaders. [break]

Meanwhile, major parties are yet to finalize the list of candidates under first-past-the-poll (FPTP).

The leaders of the major partiers have said that candidates have not been finalized yet due to factional division.

NC leaders Bir Bahadur Balayar and Bharat Khadka, who were recommended for constituency number 1 of Doti under FPTP, are still making the rounds of party headquarters, Kathmandu to lobby for ticket.

“As leaders are lobbying in Kathmandu, no election activity is happening in the district,” said Padam Rawat, party district secretary. He further added that election campaign has fallen on a backburner as proposed candidates are still in the capital lobbying for ticket.

The CPN (UML) has finalized their candidates. Narad Malasi will contest the poll from constituency number 1, while Prem Bahadur Aale Magar is selected for constituency number 2. The leaders have informed that they will launch electoral campaigns after a week.

Selected candidates of Rastriya Jana Morcha and Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) have already returned to their constituencies. Naresh Aale and Manoj Bhatta have been selected as candidates for constituency number 1 and 2, respectively.

“Our candidates have started meeting the voters in their constituencies,” said Keshav Nath Yogi, secretary of RPP-N Doti district committee.

Likewise, Lal Bahdur Khadka has been selected for constituency number 1 by RPP-N.
