SLC examinees arrested with fake currencies in Taplejung

TAPLEJUNG, March 31: School Living Certificate (SLC) examinees have been arrested with fake currencies. They wrote today's SLC exam in the custody.

District Police Office, Taplejung, has detained them on the charge of counterfeiting Rs 500 notes in denomination.

The arrested are Loknath Guragain of Taplejung Municipality-1 and Prakash Khawas of Ward No. 2, DSP Ram Bahadur KC told Republica Online. According to him, they were arrested with four fake notes of Rs 500 denomination which they themselves had counterfeited.

.According to KC, Guragain and Khawas had given a fake Rs 500 note to a shopkeeper to buy fruits.

The shopkeeper knew about it later and reported it to the police. Police arrested them when they went to the shop to buy fruits with the same kind of fake notes.

DSP KC said they are investigating the case after taking Khawas and Guragain under control.

They are SLC students from Deulinge Higher Secondary School.
