The six suspended cops are assistant sub-inspector Dan Singh Bhandari, constables Birendra Bam, Karvir Thalal, Biradatta Badu, Jagadish Pandey and Naribhan Mahatara, the police said.
A policewoman had filed a complaint at the Deputy Inspector General´s (DIG) Office 10 days ago accusing the six of gangraping her on the night of September 27 after calling her to the office to worship communications sets and then mixing marijuana in her food.
The six policemen had claimed that she had accused them of rape for fear of facing departmental action after she was found sleeping with some policemen and a local youth Tekendra Shah.
They were suspended after a five-member probe committee headed by Superintendent of Police Prem Chand started investigation into the incident after reports of her medical tests came out.
A medical checkup was conducted on the policewoman at Seti Zonal Hospital five days after the incident. The medical test reports show that she had injury marks on different parts of her body including chest.
The five-member committee, including two women sub-inspectors and DIG Parvati Thapa Magar, will submit its report within five days.
