Shrestha, who shot three-under 69 and one-under 71 in the first and second sounds respectively, carded another one-under 71 at the Kurmitola Golf Course in Dhaka on Wednesday for a total of five-under 211. [break]
Indian pro Shamim Khan topped the leader-board with a total of 11-under 205, with local pro Sayum in second position at 10-under 206. Herendar Gupta of India produced the best card of the day as he shot five-under 67 on Wednesday to climb into third position with a total of nine-under 207. Md Shakhawat Hossain Sohel and amateur Md Nazim were also tied for third.
Shrestha carded two-under 34 on the front nine as he shot birdies on the third, fourth and ninth holes against bogeys on the first and sixth holes. On the back nine, he suffered bogeys on the 10th and 11th holes but shot a birdie on the 17th hole to complete it at one-over 37.
Two other Nepali pros -- Sanjay Lama and Krishna Man Rajbahak -- missed the cut that was applied at eight-over 152 after the completion of 36 holes on Tuesday.
The invitational tournament is organized by the Bangladesh Golf Federation (BGF) under the aegis of the Bangladesh Professional Golfers´ Association (BPGA).
