KATHMANDU, Nov 2: Shiva Ram Shrestha registered a card of one-under 66 to continue his two-stroke lead after the second round of the NPGA President´s Cup golf tournament at the Royal Nepal Golf Club on Tuesday.



Shrestha played under-par round for the consecutive second day for a total of three-under 131. Umesh Nagarkoti also shot one-under 66 to remain in the second position at 133. Defending champion Ramesh Nagarkoti carded 66 to climb to third with a total score of 136, while reigning Nepal No 1 Rabi Khadka was fourth at 139. [break]



Rupak Acharya and Ram Thapa shared the fifth position at 140s, while Sanjay Lama and Deepak Neupane were joint seventh with the scores of 143. Surya Sharma (144) and Rajan Thapa (145) completed the top 10.



Other professional players who survived the cut at 19-over 153 were Mani Rai, Dhana Thapa, CB Bhandari, Sachin Bhattarai, Ramesh Adhikari, Pashupati Sharma, Krishna Man Rajbahak, Yelamber Singh Adhikari and Deepak Thapa Magar.



In Amateur section, Puskar Rajbahak played five-over 72 to take lead with the total of 150. Tashi Tsering (152), Tashi Ghale (153), NJ Rayamajhi (156), Bikash Bogati (159) and Gorkha Lama (159) made the cut.







Shiva Ram, who has card of two-under 65 on the first day, carded one-under 66 on Tuesday to take two-shot lead over Umesh, who also shot 66. Ramesh was five strokes adrift the leader and four behind his younger brother after a round of 66.



The final round will be held on Wednesday. The winner of the third event under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour organized by Nepal Professional Golfer´s Association will walk away with a check of Rs 44,000, while the runner up will get Rs 29,000 and third-placed golfer will earn Rs 21,000.
