KATHMANDU, March 26: Chairman of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Anup Raj Sharma said that he will quit from his post if the government failed to implement commission's recommendations.
Speaking at a program in Kathmandu to unveil a report on murder of five students around 11 years ago in Dhanusa, Sharma said that he was happy with benefits that he has been receiving as the former chief justice of the country."There is no point in occupying the post if my recommendations are not implemented," he added, "I have a 32-year experience as a law practitioner ranging from judge to chief justice. I would like to make clear that I am not after amassing the property."
He suggested that the government implement commission's recommendations. "If the present condition prevails, resignation is the only solution," the chairman said.
He also said that he had already informed Prime Minister Sushil Koirala regarding this issue.
