School level TT begins Friday

KATHMANDU, Sept 10: Society for Physical Education and Sports, Nepal and Pushpa Kunja HSS are jointly set to hold the Fourth Nationwide School-level Open Table Tennis Tournament in Samakhusi, Kathmandu on Friday and Saturday.



The tournament will feature U-12 and U-16 events for both girls and boys along with team events for both boys and girls on the premises of Pushpa Kunja, according to the school.

Altogether 41 players will vie for boys' U-12 title and 90 players for boys' U-16 crown, while 11 players are set to compete in the girls' U-12 section and 21 in girls' U-16 event.


Similarly, nine teams will participate in boys' team event and seven teams in girls' team event. The winner, runner-up and second runner-up teams will receive Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively in the U-16 sections and Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 1,000 in the U-12 sections.


Altogether 29 schools will take part in the event.
