KATHMANDU, April 11: Nepal National team midfielder cum defender Sandip Rai has been named the Ncell Player of the Year 2069 with an overwhelming number of SMS votes, on Thursday.
Rai, who plays club football for Lalitpur-based Three Star Club, was announced the winner amidst a ceremony held at ANFA complex, Satdobato.[break]
The 24-year-old Rai was declared winner as he accumulated a total of 111317 SMS votes.
Chairman of All Nepal Football Association Ganesh Thapa and Ncell corporate communication manager Sanju Kiorala jointly handed the key of a car worth approximately Rs.1.7 millions.
Along with Rai, Anil Gurung, and Bharat Khawas were the other finalists for the title. Bharat Kahwas came second on SMS vote count.
