KATHMANDU, June 12: Shram Sanskriti Party chair Harka Raj Rai Sampang sought the Defence Minister in the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting, citing alleged harassment of Nepali citizens by Indian border forces in Susta.
Raising the issue in Parliament on Friday, Sampang questioned who is currently handling the Defence portfolio and urged the Speaker to summon the minister to the House.

“I want to ask him a question. Videos have surfaced showing an Indian SSP allegedly intimidating Nepali citizens in Susta. The government, the Defence Minister, and even the Prime Minister should address this. If there is a Defence Minister, he should be brought here so we can ask questions,” he said.
Prime Minister Balendra Shah is currently overseeing the Defence Ministry.
Sampang also questioned restrictions on the Nepali Army’s deployment along the border, asking what agreement prevents its presence there.
