MOSCOW, May 7: Russia's defence ministry said on Thursday that its forces had destroyed more than 300 Ukrainian drones overnight, days before Moscow holds WWII commemorations.

Some 347 drones were destroyed between 1800 GMT and 0400 GMT, it said in a statement. The countries declared unilateral ceasefires this week, with Kyiv proposing one on May 6, which Russia ignored, and the Kremlin demanding one between May 8 and 9, to coincide with Kremlin's WWII events.
