For a second night in a row, Ukraine launched drone attacks on Russia and targeted Moscow as Russian air defence units destroyed several Ukrainian drones while the Kremlin also shut down all four major airports in Moscow, Reuters reported quoting officials on Tuesday.
Russia’s aviation watchdog Rosaviatsia said on Telegram that all four major airports in Moscow have been shut down temporarily to ensure safety, BBC reported.
According to Sergei Sobyanin, Moscow’s Mayor, at least 19 Ukrainian drones were destroyed by Russian air defence before they reached the capital city “from different locations”.

Sobyanin said on social media that there were no casualties reported and that some debris of the destroyed drones landed on one of the key highways in Moscow.
“Specialists from the emergency services are working at the sites where the incidents occurred,” the mayor added in his Telegram post.
There have been no comments by the Ukrainian side upon the recent developments of drone attack in Moscow and airports getting shut temporarily in the capital, as it comes after fresh incursions into Russia’s Kursk region on Monday.
However, the Kremlin last month had claimed that it took command of the Kursk region, about nine months after Ukrainian forces launched a surprise invasion. However, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy led forces insist that it still has soldiers operating out of the region.
Regarding the Kursk region, Ukraine on Monday said “Nine months after the start of the Kursk operation, Ukraine’s Defence Forces maintain a military presence on the territory of Russia’s Kursk region,” BBC reported.
