DADELDHURA, Oct 9: Residents of remote Rupal VDC of Dadeldhura have warned of disrupting the ongoing political campaigning for the upcoming Constitutional Assembly election in the district if government does not give solid assurance to connect their villages to a road network.

Speaking at a press conference held at Dadeldhura, the district headquarters, the agitated locals said they will not allow canvassing for the CA polls if their demands are not heard. [break]

They are also asked the government to connect the VDC to the national transmission grid, to establish custom check post in the VDC and to reinstate the previously displaced Rastriya Banijaya Bank and a ranger post.

The locals told Republica that the concerned authorities have been turning a blind eye to their problems for years.

"We have knocked the doors of the district as well as the central administration, but to no avail. This time we won´t soften our stance on this matter," said Lal Bahadur Madaile, a local resident.

Besides Rupal and Dewaldibyapur VDC, all the other VDCs of the district are connected to road networks.
