KATHMANDU, July 31: Petroleum transporters have warned the government that they would stop supplying all types of petroleum products if the authorities do not revise the transportation fares within the prescribed deadline.

The petroleum tankers operators said they are halting transporting aviation fuel from Monday after the government overlooked the ultimatum that they had given earlier. Citing a surge in prices of petroleum products, the tanker operators have been demanding Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) to increase cargo fares.

The Federation of Nepal Petroleum Transport Entrepreneurs through a press statement issued on July 22 had demanded the government to fulfill their demands by July 31. However, the authority concerned did not pay any heed to solve the problem of the transporters, the federation says.

According to the federation, the transporters will not be collecting the NOC-issued purchase delivery order from Friday while they will not be moving their vehicles from Saturday.
