KATHMANDU, March 18: The orientation program for newly-elected House of Representatives (HoR) members from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is set to continue today.
Today’s session will include training on planning, budget formulation, good governance, and the development of political culture. Both formal and informal sessions began in the morning with yoga and meditation. LP Bhanu Sharma delivered a session on mindfulness practices, including yoga and meditation.
The formal session has been scheduled to begin at 9 AM. In the first session, former secretary Dr Toyanarayan Gyawali will facilitate discussions on government operations, planning, and budget formulation.

Former secretary Pratap Kumar Pathak will lead a session on good governance, focusing on its concepts and practices, aimed at lawmakers and policymakers.
Similarly, the party’s General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti and central committee member RK Dhungana will facilitate a session on the relationship between the party and lawmakers, covering the role of lawmakers in a new political culture, code of conduct, and minimum commitments.
Lawmakers will also take part in group discussions and present on agenda-setting priorities.
In the concluding session, party Spokesperson Manish Jha and Deputy Spokesperson Pratibha Rawal will present on agenda prioritization, followed by a vote of thanks from participants. The orientation program will formally conclude with an address by Chair Lamichhane.
In the HoR election held on March 5, the RSP secured a near two-thirds majority, winning 125 seats under the first-past-the-post system and 57 under the proportional representation system.
