DHULIKHEL, June 8: A three-day orientation program for newly elected mayors and deputy mayors on local level operation and management has started today.
The Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development has conducted the program targeted to the mayors, deputy mayors of the metropolises, sub metropolises and municipalities, chiefs and deputy chiefs of the rural municipalities of the local levels in province No 3. The first phase local poll was held in these local levels on May 14.

As many as 238 representatives from these local levels are attending the program. While addressing the program, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar urged the local representatives saying that it was the historic opportunity for them.
He urged all to maintain the god governance at the local level as these bodies got elected representatives after 20 years.
Similarly, speaking in the same program, auditor general Tanka Mani Sharma urged the representatives to make the prompt records as his office had the responsibility of making auditing from the office of the President to local levels.
Chief Secretary Dr Som Lal Subedi shared that the society was changing with newness and along with it political parties are changing.
Spokesperson at the Ministry Rudra Singh Tamang informed that the Dhulikhel declaration will be issued along with commitment paper on how to operate local levels. RSS
