RSP Chairman Lamichhane and former DIG Joshi presented to Kaski District Court

POKHARA, Oct 24: Rabi Lamichhane, the chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and former DIG Chhabilal Joshi, both arrested in a case of embezzlement involving Surya Darshan Cooperative, have been presented to the Kaski District Court.

Police said that they were presented to the court as soon as the court opened to avoid possible disruptions due to protests and crowds.

Lamichhnae was  initially arrested on October 18 and the Kaski District Court granted police the permission to detain Lamichhane for six days to investigate his role in the embezzlement of cooperative funds on October 20.

He has been charged with cooperative fraud and organized crime for his involvement in the  misappropriation of the funds of Suryadarshan Cooperative of Pokhara through Gorkha Media. He was presented in court again today after the expiration of the initial deadline granted in the same case.

Former director of Gorkha Media and former DIG Joshi, who was arrested on September 22 and brought to Pokhara, was also presented in the court today.
