Speaking at a press conference at Kathmandu on Friday, Thapa said, "The main agenda of our party is restoration of Hindu nation with full religious freedom, democracy and constitutional monarchy." He further said that main slogan for the forthcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) election would be "positive change." He accused major parties of imposing tyranny in the country by spreading "negative changes" in the country. [break]
Stating that the country´s economy was in crisis, Thapa said, "We have vowed that our party would never enforce Nepal Banda as businesses and general people suffer the most during such strikes."
Asserting that the constitutional monarchy was must for the development of the country, Thapa said, "We have proposed in our election manifesto that the king should be the head of the state." He said the acting head of the state would be the prime minister, who is directly elected.
Thapa maintained that the legislative should be bicameral, with 207-member house of representative and 60-member national assembly. He further proposed a new model of local self governance will be a better alternative to the federal system.
Insisting that the country´s economic condition was deteriorating day-by-day, Thapa said, "We have proposed in the manifesto that within 10 years the country´s economic growth rate would increase by double digits, within 15 years there would be huge employment opportunity and we are hopeful that none of the Nepalis would have to go abroad in the search of jobs." He then went on to claim that his party stands in the favor of private, public, and people´s partnership in the business world in order to maintain capitalism that ensures peoples´ welfare.
During the function, Thapa announced the name of candidates for 196 constituencies. "We will make public names of the remaining 44 candidates before Sunday." He did not reveal the constituency he will contest the polls from. "But it is sure that Chairman Thapa will contest the polls from constituency number 1 of Makwanpur and constituency number 5 of Kathmandu," Govind Khaniya, spokesperson of the party told Republica.
Meanwhile, advocate Bharat Jangam formally entered the party at the same function.
