KATHMANDU, July 4: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) on Saturday ended its obstruction at the Constituent Assembly (CA) after an agreement not to interpret rights to abstain from a religion as a freedom to change religion was reached.

A meeting between Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and RPP-N Chairman Kamal Thapa sealed the deal.

The pro-Hindu party had been obstructing the CA meeting since Friday stating that rights to change religion was enlisted as fundamental rights being acted by foreign powers.

On Friday, lawmakers had deliberated on the draft of the new statute amidst protest by RPP-N.
