The three-day-long festival, which kicked off in the capital today has 60 handpicked titles selected by the Annecy Festival and French Film Office to introduce the culture of French anime to Nepal. Associated also with MAYA Animation Academy (MAAC); the festival also includes Nepali anime shorts along with a crash course on the insight of animation and its scope in the country.

“Animation is the world where your imagination can soar higher than the heavens”, says Indra Lal Balami, Managing Director of Maya Animation Academy. “Animation will definitely be the next big thing to hit television and hopefully the silver screen”.
With stories ranging from social issues to lovelorn creatures; the films selected for the festival are short films with huge heart. Divided into six categories; the festival will conclude on April 19 at the Alliance Francaise in Kathmandu.
