Sharma, who is also the Business Editor of Republica, has been practicing business journalism for the last 10 years.
Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada handed over the award to Sharma amid a function held to mark SEJON Day, when Society of Economic Journalists of Nepal (SEJON) was established.
The award carried a purse of Rs 51,000 which Sharma shared with Santa Gaha Magar of Himal fortnightly.
